Raytheon, the giant defense contractor, recently bought up Utah technology firm Sarcos‘ robotics business. And it wasn’t because of Sarcos’ work on the Bellagio’s fountains, I suspect. For years, Sarcos has been working for the military on real-life exoskeletons, to radically boost soldiers’ strength. Here’s a video of a Sarcos exoskeleton in action.

Now all they need to do is start cloning for the new army.

It’ll be hundred thousand dollar dead weight against portable electromagnetic pulse weaponry. Lot’s of cost in development, cheaply countered by a tech savy opposing forces. Looks great for loading, and building work though. It would be incredible in the civilian sector, virtually unlimited applications. A real force multiplier.

I’m in the ARNG and thing the possibilities are endless for both military and civilian sectors, but hope that it will be lightweight, comfortable, and easy to use! I also pray if and whn it is ready that the buerocratic red tape won’t hold it up!

This is funny humans are funny we must laugh. Murder must be done efficiently and without tiring. How clever!

“electromagnetic pulse”
True for Silicon based electronics… However Raytheon is a leader in III/V* material based electronics and R&D, (after they bought Texas Instruments’ Defense Electronics Group).
III/V material is hardened against radiation and electromagnetic pulses. It is currently used in existing satellites and in “battle hardened” electronics aboard aircraft, missiles, ships, tanks, etc…

They’re all Halo addicts, no doubt.

As much as i hate violence, i think that’s pretty cool. An unit of these guys could carry extremely heavy weapons. For military purpose, they should put armor on those also, but i think the most usage for these will be on the civilian side, like loading things (like in the video).
They could make these extremely fast (don’t know how), would be cool.

There are a lot of great things here….

As some people know I have an exo-skeleton device for making music…
Well here we have more (ALIENS style) exo-skeletons,
for….benefiting humankind?
nope they are for…. Soldiers.
ok, here’s the obvious problem.
When Japanese make robots, they make them for peace.
Its the unwritten rule. Even their working creations are made for
the elderly. But what do these US males make them for: War and death.
And people in the US, wonder why the rest of the world hates them?
sheeeesh…..
100 points for the tech. Minus a few million for lack of intelligence.
Notice how these newscast placidly talks about moving MISSLES.
Shouldn’t they really say:
“look how we’ve made more death machines that murder humans”
:-?
sorry for the rant, but seeing this kind of stuff weekly
on the net, and especially YouTube is starting to grate this futurist.
Its so old fashioned barbaric thinking, decades old.
The other day I saw these US guys who had a fitted a machine gun
turret to their 4×4, and everyone though it was cool and funny.
Some people are actually insane…. right?
Obvious there is a HUGE divide between intelligence levels on this planet.
Only retards make machines for murder.
Einstein groans in his grave.

ps.
“Military men are dumb stupid animals to be used as cannon fodder for foreign policy”
- Henry Kissinger
or just pay attention to Charlie Chaplain’s movie speech on war,
and then start watching more STAR TREK ENTERPRISE,
and work how you can BENEFIT HUMANKIND (by NOT killing but helping).
