If you said the American people felt guilty because they are not Christian and are vulnerable to attack on that front I suspect you'd have interesting feedback. This insignia means danger and was the international symbol for piracy (ie the jolly roger). Would a true Christian want to be a member of such a group? When prodded by Tim Russert on NBC's Meet the Press Bush stated he would not answer any questions about this group. He is an elected official. Why won't he talk about it to the public?
