How could anyone admire a man that publicly admits admiration for Adolf Hitler, who openly acknowledges himself to be a “Holocaust skeptic,” and who never apologizes for his political incorrectness and nonconformist views? Who could possibly approve of a man who has put his personal freedom and indeed life on the line countless times in order to do nothing more than bring the world’s attention to what he believes to be an honest, albeit alternative view of history? Who could appreciate anyone bold enough to literally carry a cross on his own back, on behalf of all the world’s Germans for no other reason than to at least partially exonerate them of the collective guilt forced upon them after the Second World War?
 
Who could possibly admire a man that has sustained nothing but continuous persecution from society at large, who has been the victim of an ongoing smear campaigns launched more than three decades ago, who has suffered from every conceivable attack on his character, finances, family and even on his life? Who could think highly of man who despite all these things, and despite the fact that he is in prison at this very moment, not for a crime, nono. but because he questions certain aspects of the holocaust story?
 
Again, I ask, who could ever appreciate a man who for the last several decades has devoted himself to bringing forth the unpopular views of hard working academics, who were it not for Ernst Zundel, may be unknown today, and their work tossed into the sea of forgettable historiography, not based upon its undeniable merit, but based upon the fact that it didn’t sit well with mainstream and politically acceptable views?
 
How could anyone possibly hold a man like this in high regard, when there are so many other courageous individuals out there willing to stand up for their views, heroes that wouldn’t consider apologizing for their beliefs, like American politicians? For instance, when Jim Moran boldly exclaimed the obvious fact that Israel stood the most to gain from a U.S. war in Iraq, and in fact was influencing American foreign policy by way of a few well placed American Zionist officials. What about Trent Lott, who stated at a GOP function that the United States would have been, better off today had Strom Thurmond become president back in the 1950s. What about the daring exploits of Howard Dean, the Democratic parties best bet in 2004, a man unafraid to take a stand on an issue he can apologize for later. Yes, America is full of courageous people, people unafraid to throw their neighbor to the crocodile, in hopes of being the last eaten.
 
If I were interested in apologists and hesitant stands on ambiguous issues, I’d have plenty of heroes to admire, right here in the United States. Being an academic, I could seek out other academics to idolize and/or admire, there are so many courageous examples, although I can’t think of one right now. Some of you might shout, “Hey, what about Noam Chomsky?” I’d just say, been there done that, and found the esteemed professor “sympathetic” to Ernst Zundel’s plight, “outrageous,” he even exclaimed, but in the end, he felt that it wouldn’t be in anyone’s best interests, if he were to speak out too vocally on Ernst’s behalf. Academic cowardice?
 
What about all the gutsy journalists working for the prestigious networks and newspapers? Certainly, these bold “defenders” of truth and justice would write an article on the illegal nature in which Ernst was deported from the United States to Canada, where he was subsequently thrown quietly into a solitary confinement cell in the Toronto West detention Center, in Toronto Canada. Or how in 2005 he was quietly deported from Canada to his native Germany where he now sits more than a year later after numerous trial delays initiated by his persecutors. These brave journalists would definitely be interested in an expose on how the new terrorism laws are already being abused to silence dissent.
 
The idea that Mr. Zundel is a threat to any nations national Security is ridiculous, the man hasn’t committed a violent crime in his entire life and has never been convicted of a crime that wasn’t later overturned in Canada’s highest court. The brave and courageous purveyor’s of “fair and balanced” news haven’t written an article yet, that even approached an equitable portrayal of Mr. Zundel. Ernst Zundel’s crime is that he is politically incorrect, a nonconformist and no matter what the powers that be throw at him, he just won’t apologize and prostrate himself in feigned humility like so many of our illustrious leaders. He is dangerous only to the status quo, and they know it, that in fact is why he currently languishes in prison, not because he actually represents a danger to society.
 
Ernst Zundel admires Adolf Hitler, so what? Ernst Zundel doesn’t believe any Jews were gassed at Auschwitz, so what? Ernst Zundel is and has been for some time; extremely critical of Zionism and its designs on the world, by Godit is too damned bad more people aren’t behind him on this! Zundel is unafraid to do what Jim Moran didn’t have the guts to do, and that is to stand up to and challenge the State of Israel, and the undisputed influence Zionists have in the United States and Canada today. Don’t fool yourself, this disproportionate influence is very real, Congressmen have written books about it, as have Senators. Viktor Ostrovsky, a former Mossad agent wrote a tell all book about Israeli espionage in the United States and how the Israelis could “count on” American Jews to do much of their work for them, after all it was a Jewish thing, and had nothing to do with patriotism. It is an undisputed fact that more than one hundred Israelis were detained for espionage in the United States immediately following September 11th, and inexplicably deported back to Israel before charges could filed, and more importantly before the American people were informed.
 
 
It is an undisputed, empirical fact that five Israelis were arrested on 9-11 for videotaping the actual impact of the jetliners as they hit the World Trade Centers and laughing and clapping each other on the back in a congratulatory manner while filming the event. It is an absolute fact that on January 2, 2004 a Jew named Asher Karni was arrested at Denver’s International Airport for having sold [past tense] more than sixty nuclear weapon detonators to Pakistan, a country that is without a doubt the most unstable Islamic Republic in the world. Despite having committed what might be the greatest terrorist incident in modern memory, Karni remains unknown to most Americans, largely because the Jewish mainstream media has suppressed the story. Karni was sentenced to three years for selling nuclear weapon detonators to Pakistan; Zundel has yet to be tried, despite having served more than three years in prison. Go figure.
 
So, is it possible to admire a man like Zundel? During his infamous 1988 Holocaust Trial, a trial in which his opponents love to mention his conviction, but never mention the fact that this unjust conviction was later overturned by Canada’s highest court. Zündel apparently impressed another young man named Jurgen Neumann who had this to say about Ernst Zundel, “he is a very sincere individual. He actually seemed to believe exactly what he said He never avoided any questions asked of him.” This was what impressed Neumann at the time and impressed him during the 1988 trial. According to Neumann, Zundel asked him to do many things that a mere propagandist would never request, i.e. continue to independently research the topic. This indicated to Neumann that Zündel was sincere about the subject and that he continually attempted to widen his field of factual knowledge as any historian would. Imagine that, admiring a man that believes what he says. Certainly an odd concept in this day and age, being that we are so often exposed to a tremendous number of people more than willing to take whatever position they are told to take, or in the case of the politicians, whichever way the winds blow, as manifested by poll results. Incidentally, does anyone really trust our polls any longer?
 
In a recent article entitled “Why I admire David Irving,” another historical revisionist current imprisoned in Austria for his views, a gentleman by the name of Nick Herbert had this to say about the “notorious” author, “I am not a professional historian and my knowledge of what went on in WW II is not extensive but for most of my life I have been trained in the methods of rational thinking and can follow an argument like a rat terrier. I recognize a good argument when I see one and have familiarized myself with most of the rhetorical counterfeits of reasoning. I consider myself an expert truth-seeker.” Herbert then went on to say, “As a scientist, seeking truth is part of my profession.” What Herbert was essentially saying is that Irving’s research should be examined as it has merit, the revisionist point of view must not be discounted in the name of political correctness.
 
An interesting detail about both Ernst Zundel and David Irving is that neither holds a degree in history, yet both men are infinitely better versed in just about every aspect of history than I am, and I hold a masters degree in history and politics. Of this, there is no doubt whatsoever. I have come to know Mr. Zundel through correspondence and am literally amazed at his ability to recall the smallest details out of the thousands of texts he has read. I have been told that Mr. Irving has a photographic memory, which may be true, and could explain his phenomenal ability to deliver the most rational, well-conceived and coordinated presentations I have ever heard from any historian, including my former illustrious professors.
 
It has become abundantly clear to me that our allegedly fair and balanced mainstream media has seriously misrepresented both Irving and Zundel. When my wife and I met Ms. Ingrid Zundel for the first time, we didn’t meet the “yellow-eyed Hun, black widow spider, virulent racist,” that the media might have led us believe, no we met one of the most intelligent, kindly and concerned women we had ever met. My family and I quickly became enamored with her, and she said, what should have been more than obvious at that point, “If only people would get to know Ernst, they would find that he is one of the kindest people in the world.” In fact, that is exactly what I have found by corresponding with him, rather than relying on highly biased media reports and/or ADL profiles of the man.
 
Ernst is a threat to the ADL because he not only denies that there was ever a systematic plan to gas Jews during World War II, but also implicates Zionism and its appendages, like the ADL, as the exploiters of this myth, for the purposes of fleecing the world’s Gentile population and the imposition of unreasonable, and often dubious political demands, something Congressman Jim Moran was once quick to note, and even quicker to apologize for. One must wonder if perhaps Ernst Zundel isn’t far more important than anyone ever imagined, after all, someone went to a great deal of trouble to quietly and quickly deport him from the United States to a country where they could be sure he would be effectively silenced during a period of crisis following September 11th, in the United States. In fact, Zundel, may have been one of the more vociferous whistleblowers in North America following the attack in New York, honestly pointing out undeniable, albeit uncomfortable facts, like the surreptitious deportation of more than a hundred Israeli spies from the US following the attack, as well as the extremely unpopular view that Israel was really the only entity with anything to gain from a preemptive war in Iraq. If Zundel were free today, and not under the news blackout employed to further marginalize his most rational views, he’d be unapologetically implicating Israel as the soul beneficiary of any further hostilities in Iran or Syria.
 
So inevitably the question arises, was Ernst Zundel ever a threat to Canada’s National Security because he was allegedly the “patriarch” of a virulent and violently racist subculture, or was he a threat because there is a great deal of merit to his arguments? The aforementioned Noam Chomsky is attributed with having once said, “If you don’t believe in freedom of expression for those you most despise, you don’t believe in freedom of expression.” Such an incredibly simple idea, yet contemporary Americans can’t seem to accept its pure unadulterated logic, despite paying it lip service continuously, citing it as perhaps our most important Constitutional right. The problem in America isn’t that we have no theoretical understanding of the importance of our Constitution; it’s in our application of the principles espoused within that document that we fail.
 
 
Our government through the media propagates its agenda by providing us with its simple foundation, never its entire structure, and it reinforces this agenda by demonizing and marginalizing its opponents. Being that we are almost completely at the mercy of our television, oh come on, admit it, we tend to believe what is broadcast, and therefore we become the indoctrinated, not the educated, no matter what Fox news says, and we then reject, often out of hand dissenting views. This is known as “selective distortion,” in advertising circles, and is a well-known concept throughout the entire media apparatus. In social psychology the tendency to accept what one is told, no matter whether or not it is accurate, and then reject later information is known as “belief perseverance.” In either case, it reinforces what a well known cosmologist and top thinker named Stephen Hawkin’s had to say about knowledge and that was, “The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge.”
 
 
The way in which the mainstream media has portrayed Ernst Zundel over these last several decades is absolutely erroneous. The man is not the “hate monger,” he has been depicted as. Ernst Zundel is dedicated, he is honest, intelligent, even frighteningly so and has a tremendous amount of integrity.
 
I admire Ernst Zundel, despite his views, because he himself is an admirable individual. I do not necessarily care so much that his views offend other people; I don’t have to. If they don’t like him or his views, I know for a fact; Ernst isn’t going to make them listen; he only wants to be free to speak his mind to those interested in what he has to say. Unlike the current governments of Canada, Germany and the United States, Zundel, the so-called bigot believes in freedom of expression, and has never espoused otherwise.
 
We must remember that it wasn’t so long ago that the powers that be were referring to James Ennes, the author of Assault on the Liberty as an “anti-Semite, a racist and a Nazi,” merely for telling the world that in 1967 the Israelis intentionally attacked an American ship killing dozens and wounding nearly a hundred American sailors. The facts behind this case have been known for decades, yet, quite honestly, the same powers that seek to silence Zundel today silenced Ennes twenty some years ago in the same manner they have traditionally attacked the purveyors of truth forever, by slandering them, and going after their livelihood, reputation, family, etc Fortunately for Ennes, Mr. Ward Boston, the military officer in charge of the USS Liberty investigation in 1967 recently came forward signing affidavits testifying to the fact that Lyndon B. Johnson ordered the attack on the USS Liberty “covered up,” so that the American people, his theoretical boss, would never learn the details of what really happened. Ennes was “rehabilitated,” as Zundel will one day be, but Ennes was fortunate in that his ideas didn’t land him behind bars. We can no longer afford to allow media created leper Pariah’s like Zundel, and Ennes to suffer for speaking out, when we are either too ignorant or afraid to do so ourselves.
 
Ernst Zundel should never have been illegally arrested and unconstitutionally deported from the United States for having an opinion that differed from others. He should not have been thrown into a solitary confinement cell, denied access to the media and simple items, like blankets, chairs, and writing material, but he was. As previously mentioned, the man has not been charged with a crime, he is being held because his ideas implicate individuals belonging to a powerful and wealthy minority within our population in the commission of crimes. Crimes that they are in fact guilty of, and know that they are guilty of, for this reason they must imprison and silence courageous and incorruptible individuals out there like Zundel, who won’t sell out the truth, no matter what these people do to silence them. Zundel had a chance to sell out but refused.
 
It is for all of the above reasons that I admire Ernst Zundel, a man that refuses to apologize for having an educated opinion, a man that remains willing to sacrifice everything for others, even if they do not recognize or appreciate his efforts. Ernst Zundel is an oddity in our contemporary world, a man unwilling to accept the lies that have become such common fare in our nation ­ he believes in what he says, and therefore he will “never surrender,” and we ought to thank him for it.

Yesterday, at 7:00 AM, I received word from Ernst’s son, Pierre, that a verdict had been pronounced - and that Ernst has been sentenced to the maximum penalty for “Holocaust Denial” - five years.
 
That’s what you get in Zionist-infested Germany these days for speaking the truth as you know it and have researched and documented it.
 
The likewise Zionist-controlled media world-wide has been poisonous, but as a friend from Spain, having monitored the news, reported to me, and here I paraphrase from memory: “SThings are being said between the lines that were never permitted to be uttered before.”
 
An example below from today’s taz, (Die Tageszeitung) in an article by Klaus-Peter Klingelschmitt):
 
“In the end, the judge rejected all attempts by the defense attorneys to enter facts into evidence with the lapidären/set-in-stone argument that it is of no significance whether or not the Holocaust happened - denying it is forbidden in Germany. (!)
 
Just as Ernst said in a recent letter to me, ‘even if I walked on water, it would not have made any difference.”
 
So there you have it!
 
I have been told that Ernst, in his summary statement, asked for an international investigative team to settle the truth about Auschwitz once and for all. “Judge Nein”, of course, rejected it - as he has rejected all attempts to offer expert witnesses as well as documented, scientific proof of what revisionists have calmly argued for decades.
 
I am waiting for a written report about this last hearing, but I have been told by an observer that he overheard one of the attorneys comment that never in his decades of practice has he experienced such uncontrolled virulence not only against the defendant but against the attorneys and even the audience. I have also been informed that Defense Attorney Rieger himself will be charged with “Holocaust Denial.” (I believe that Sylvia Stolz has already been charged, although I am not sure of the specifics.)
 
I used to say to friends that one of the ways I could tell that sanity and reason was winning out over hysterics is that the personal assaults against me (telephone calls, e-mail and snail mail) had abated. In 1996, when the Zundelsite first rose to prominence, vilification and demonization were daily occurrrences, but in the latter years, months would go by without a single hate message, calling me all sorts of filthy names - and worse. Yesterday, hate massages came out of the woodworks like bed bugs!
 
Where do we go from here? Of course, appealing this verdict will be one way of protest. We will also hold a demonstration at the German Embassy in Washington on May 7 - so, please mark your calendar. We know for a fact that the German Embassy vassals were up to their necks in the conspiracy to abduct and rendition Ernst - first to Canada, and then to Germany. We have the evidence and paper trail. The latest I heard is that the surreptitious plane that took Ernst to Germany in March of 2005, explicitly bypassing customs and media, cost the Canadian taxpayers a hefty $130,000 - not $50,000, as we had at first been told.
 
Once we have absorbed this shock, we will have to regroup - and rethink.

“The sentencing today of Ernst Zundel also represents a slap in the face to Iranian President Ahmadinejad’s hateful campaign of Holocaust denial that unfortunately has generated too much support in the Arab and Muslim world.” –The Simon Wiesenthal Center.
 
67-year-old Ernst Zundel’s “crime” is to blaspheme the religion of Holocaustianity’s “execution gas chamber” shrine at Auschwitz- Birkenau.
 
Protestant and Catholic Europeans have a long and ignominious history of burning, tormenting and imprisoning heretics. Zundel is now numbered with Michael Servetus, Edmund Campion and countless other independent thinkers whose ideas could not be contested, so they had to be silenced.
 
If Mr. Zundel really were a flat-earther, he would be laughed into oblivion. But the fact is, he has been a mentor to some of the elite scientific revisionists in the field, including former Max Planck chemist Germar Rudolf, who is on trial in Germany on similar charges.
 
The most disgusting aspect of the verdict against Zundel, aside from his incarceration, is the effect it will have on the Muslim world, which is sanctimoniously hectored by the West to permit more freedom of expression and to be less defensive about blasphemy of Muhammad. But the imperial West has deigned to create an exception for its own tutelary idols, about which no blasphemy may be countenanced, on penalty of five years’ imprisonment. The verdict against Zundel represents a resurgence of the Dark Ages and that fact will not be lost on Muslims.
 
This is not the last word on Ernst! The enemies of freedom have not broken his spirit. He has been on trial intermittently for twenty- seven years. In that time, he has never recanted, compromised, or uttered a single weasel word of accommodation to the Auschwitz flatulence, even though, had he done so, he might have received a lighter sentence or been released entirely.
 
Mr. Zundel stands today as an example of a man who speaks spiritual truth to overwhelming material power. His ideas cannot be contained by cages and bars. From Venezuela to Iran, a new world –a youthful world — for whom the rotten, old, Skull-and-Bones mesmerism has lost its spell-binding hold, is watching and witnessing.
 
The verdict against Ernst Zundel is a searing indictment of the post-modernist West. It is a self-administered “slap in the face” not to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, but to every jailer-rabbi and inquisitorial Zionist who applauds it. With each clap of their hands their studied pose as the eternal victims is unmasked, and all that stands before us is the mentality that wrote the book on tyranny, in Babylon, circa 300 A.D.

A bill introduced by Sen. Ted Stevens (R-AK) would block social networking programs and other popular websites from computers at public libraries and computers.

The blog Passport run by the magazine Foreign Policy writes that “The man who gave us the ‘series of tubes’ metaphor for the Internet now wants to take away Myspace, Wikipedia, and other social networking websites.”

The problem with the bill, according to Foreign Policy is the vague language in the section that describes which websites should be forbidden.

The bill mandates public schools and libraries to protect against access to “visual depictions” that are “obscene,” “child pornography,” or “harmful to minors”.

It also bans access commercial social networking websites and chatrooms and requires administrators to inform parents that “sexual predators can use these websites and chat rooms to prey on children.”

Stevens is ranking member of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, where the bill has been referred. The committee is chaired by Sen. Daniel Inouye (D-HI).

About six or seven months ago when the first real talk of Window Vista I started seeing articles about the DRM present in the new operating system. At that time I didn’t really know what DRM was, but it sounded bad so I decided to check it out.

After researching DRM (Digital Rights Management) I must say I was scared. For those of you who don’t know what DRM means let me simplify it. DRM makes it so you can not buy and own a digital copy of media (music, video, etc), instead, you may buy permission to use the file as long as you follow the rules and observe certain limitations that benefit the seller, which in turn makes them more powerful, and able to come up with even more restrictive policies.

Yeah, not my idea of fun either.

So, now that I’d become aware the restrictive anti-features of Vista I needed to figure what I was going to do to prevent myself from being subjected to this. Luckily, in the comments of a lot of these articles I saw people saying so what, they were running Linux so they didn’t have to worry about it.

Linux? Not worry about it? Sounds like a plan to me.

So I start doing some research on what Linux is. Turns out it’s the name of a whole other operating system you can use to run your computer. Only catch is, it’s not made by some big evil company. Instead, it’s maintained and advanced by a huge community of developers who work on the different distributions (distros) of linux, that are like customized versions for people with different preferences. Sound crazy? I haven’t even gotten to the really crazy part.

They give it away for free. Not just free as in beer, (though in most cases it is) but also free as in freedom, like free speech. When you use this system you are free to use it however you want. You are actually encouraged to tinker with it and make it better, and then share your discoveries with your fellow users, so they might use it if they like too.

What could better demonstrate the reason freedom works so well. People from around the world taking advantage of the free network that is the internet, and using it as the platform to share and distribute everything you could ever need for your computer for free.

The whole idea behind the truth movement of today, whether it be anti war, anti new world order, anti gun control, anti big government, is to spread information to as many people as possible, so that we may reach the critical mass necessary to create real change in this country. One of the greatest assets we have in spreading this information is through the internet, using our computers. Why should we trust this great task to a computer that isn’t going to do what we want when it conflicts with what these giant corporations want it to do.

What happens when they have tools that will turn our computers off when we try to post an unapproved blog?

By then it will to late to win this battle, and much, much farther from taking back our nation.

Lets not see that day.

Who’s Warning About The Hate Bill?

The federal “anti-hate” bill, HR 254, is stealth legislation at its most devious. Its language deceives all but the most suspicious and informed. Maybe this helps explain why evangelical watchdog organizations do little or nothing to sound the alarm, even though the hate bill has been in the House of Representatives for six weeks!

On ten top conservative websites, I found no mention of the David Ray Hate Crimes Prevention Act (HR 254). I found just one alert on the citizen link page of Dr. Dobson’s Focus on the Family website. When several friends and I called D. James Kennedy’s Coral Ridge Ministries, American Family Association, and Jerry Falwell Ministries, they promised to research the hate bill immediately.

But this legislation is so disarmingly worded that even Christians and conservatives contact me to ask, “This bill just wants federal power to prosecute bias-motivated violent crimes in the states-what’s wrong with that?”

There’s plenty wrong with that!

What’s the Threat?

The Constitution does not grant federal government the police state privilege of intervention in local law enforcement. Unless the government finds evidence of slavery in the states, jury tampering, voter fraud, or crimes involving interstate commerce (where jurisdiction is unclear), the Constitution’s message to the federal government is blunt and emphatic: “Butt out of local law enforcement!”

But HR 254 gives the government the right to do what the Constitution forbids. Because five states do not have hate laws, this bill says the government has no choice but to “enhance federal enforcement of hate crimes” and “increase the number of [federal] personnel to prevent and respond to alleged violations [of hate crimes in the states]” (Introductory Statement of Purpose and Sec. 7). HR 254 asserts hate crimes and lack of effective countermeasures on the state level is a “serious national problem” necessitating federal intervention (Sec. 2[1])

The hate bill strains to find any pretext whereby a federal hate crimes bureaucracy can take over local law enforcement. Its arguments toward this end are so absurd they insult the reader’s intelligence.

Sneaking Around the Constitution

In order to evade the Constitution’s clear limitations on federal intervention in law enforcement, HR 254 alleges that hate crimes are actually slavery! “Violence motivated by bias is a relic of slavery that can constitute badges and incidents of slavery.” (Sec. 2,

HR 254’s second absurd ruse is that hate criminals affect interstate commerce, by terrorizing their victims into traveling across state lines - or not. In the latter case such victims may be impeded in purchasing many products imported or exported across state lines, which adversely affects state economies. Also, since weapons of hate violence may have been imported from out of state or traveled across state boundaries, the government is entitled to intervene in “crimes involving interstate commerce.”

Considering the pervasive influence of interstate commerce upon our lives, how often can the government meddle in local hate crimes enforcement? Any time. In fact, this ridiculous argument could be used to justify federal intervention in a crime of any kind, since any crime victim might be scared into different spending or traveling choices.

Frighteningly, HR 254 says its goal is to “prevent and respond to alleged violations” of federal hate crimes laws. This means the government does not even have to wait until a hate crime has been committed but may act preemptively to “prevent” crime.

Further, penalties for violation of federal anti-hate law can be extremely severe, even tripling the normal penalties. 1 For example, what if a man calls a woman “bitch” (evidence of bias motivation against woman, a federally protected group under HR 254) and attempts to rape her, but fails. If convicted of this assault, he could be sentenced to prison for the rest of his life. (Sec. 4[B][B,ii]).

HR 254 Shatters Civil Rights

America’s justice system requires proof of physical tangible damage before an arrest can be made. Our English system of law evolved over at least 3500 years from both biblical and Roman legal precedent.

HR 254 is not based on this foundation. It seeks to establish a different “bias motivation” justice system, which will be defined in courts by judges, as has happened in Canada over the past 36 years. Closely advised and pressured by ADL, 2 these federal and local (and mostly liberal) judges will establish legal precedents-precedents that protect groups such as homosexuals not only from physical bias-motivated violence but also from “verbal violence.” This will include the “hate speech” of Bible-believing evangelical Christians. This is exactly what has occurred in Canada and the many European nations who accepted hate laws’ Orwellian chains.

HR 254 thus does more than violate states’ rights in law enforcement. It also leads inexorably to an end of free speech!

The powerful Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith is determined to pass the hate bill in their Democrat-controlled Congress. ADL has vowed it will never give up until a federal hate crimes bureaucracy, like it established in Canada, shackles the United States. ADL has weathered six rejections of their hate bill by Congress since 1998. Their tenacity doesn’t come from concern for the emotions or safety of homosexuals. I never thought I would see the day when legislation so enormously destructive to freedom would be virtually unopposed by the religious right. 3 Incredibly, the many thousands of participants with the National Prayer Network, through massive calling and mailing of my hate crime flyer to Congress, have delivered the primary protest against imminent passage of HR 254.

Yet, we desperately need assistance from the vast constituencies of conservative evangelical organizations. These groups claim to protect America and our freedom. Yet they have been virtually oblivious to a very present danger that threatens to wipe away our freedom to fight all other battles. If we allow the hate bill to pass, we will soon have no free speech left with which to protest evils like abortion or the redefinition of marriage. The present silence of Christian/conservative organizations is ensuring their future death.

National Prayer Network can’t win alone. Freedom of speech is America’s lifeblood. It is the precious birthright of all Americans. Many, many more individuals-liberal and conservative, Democrat and Republican, Christian and non-Christian-must help us save this freedom now.

This is the primary text of HR 254, the David Ray Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2007. This is a much shorter version of S 1145 which failed passage in the Senate last year. ADL, desperate to pass their hate bill, has deleted many items and is concentrating in this new streamlined version on getting what they want most: establishment of a bias-oriented justice system in American and union of federal and local police powers (creating a police state). With this foundation, ADL can then rely on federal and local judges to expand jurisdiction from violent physical crimes to verbal violence against protected groups.

A BILL

To enhance Federal enforcement of hate crimes, and for other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the `David Ray Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2007′ or `David’s Law’.

SEC. 2. FINDINGS.

Congress finds that–

(1) the incidence of violence motivated by the actual or perceived race, color, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender, or disability of the victim poses a serious national problem;

(2) such violence disrupts the tranquility and safety of communities and is deeply divisive;

(3) existing Federal law is inadequate to address this problem;

(4) such violence affects interstate commerce in many ways, including–

(A) by impeding the movement of members of targeted groups and forcing such members to move across State lines to escape the incidence or risk of such violence; and

(B) by preventing members of targeted groups from purchasing goods and services, obtaining or sustaining employment or participating in other commercial activity;

(5) perpetrators cross State lines to commit such violence;

(6) instrumentalities of interstate commerce are used to facilitate the commission of such violence;

(7) such violence is committed using articles that have traveled in interstate commerce;

(8) violence motivated by bias that is a relic of slavery can constitute badges and incidents of slavery;

(9) although many local jurisdictions have attempted to respond to the challenges posed by such violence, the problem is sufficiently serious, widespread, and interstate in scope to warrant Federal intervention to assist such jurisdictions; and

(10) many States have no laws addressing violence based on the actual or perceived race, color, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender, or disability, of the victim, while other States have laws that provide only limited protection.

SEC. 3. DEFINITION OF HATE CRIME.

In this Act, the term `hate crime’ has the same meaning as in section 280003(a) of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994 (28 U.S.C. 994 note).

SEC. 4. PROHIBITION OF CERTAIN ACTS OF VIOLENCE.

Section 245 of title 18, United States Code, is amended–

(1) by redesignating subsections (c) and (d) as subsections (d) and (e), respectively; and

(2) by inserting after subsection (b) the following:

`(c)(1) Whoever, whether or not acting under color of law, willfully causes bodily injury to any person or, through the use of fire, a firearm, or an explosive device, attempts to cause bodily injury to any person, because of the actual or perceived race, color, religion, or national origin of any person–

`(A) shall be imprisoned not more than 10 years, or fined in accordance with this title, or both; and

`(B) shall be imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or fined in accordance with this title, or both if–

`(i) death results from the acts committed in violation of this paragraph; or

`(ii) the acts committed in violation of this paragraph include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill.

`(2)(A) Whoever, whether or not acting under color of law, in any circumstance described in subparagraph (B), willfully causes bodily injury to any person or, through the use of fire, a firearm, or an explosive device, attempts to cause bodily injury to any person, because of the actual or perceived religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability of any person–

`(i) shall be imprisoned not more than 10 years, or fined in accordance with this title, or both; and

`(ii) shall be imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or fined in accordance with this title, or both, if–

`(I) death results from the acts committed in violation of this paragraph; or

`(II) the acts committed in violation of this paragraph include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill.

`(B) For purposes of subparagraph (A), the circumstances described in this subparagraph are that–

`(i) in connection with the offense, the defendant or the victim travels in interstate or foreign commerce, uses a facility or instrumentality of interstate or foreign commerce, or engages in any activity affecting interstate or foreign commerce; or

`(ii) the offense is in or affects interstate or foreign commerce.’.

SEC. 5. DUTIES OF FEDERAL SENTENCING COMMISSION.

(a) Amendment of Federal Sentencing Guidelines- Pursuant to its authority under section 994 of title 28, United States Code, the United States Sentencing Commission shall study the issue of adult recruitment of juveniles to commit hate crimes and shall, if appropriate, amend the Federal sentencing guidelines to provide sentencing enhancements (in addition to the sentencing enhancement provided for the use of a minor during the commission of an offense) for adult defendants who recruit juveniles to assist in the commission of hate crimes.

(b) Consistency With Other Guidelines- In carrying out this section, the United States Sentencing Commission shall–

(1) ensure that there is reasonable consistency with other Federal sentencing guidelines; and

(2) avoid duplicative punishments for substantially the same offense.

SEC. 6. GRANT PROGRAM.

(a) Authority To Make Grants- The Administrator of the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention of the Department of Justice shall make grants, in accordance with such regulations as the Attorney General may prescribe, to State and local programs designed to combat hate crimes committed by juveniles.

(b) Authorization of Appropriations- There are authorized to be appropriated such sums as may be necessary to carry out this section.

SEC. 7. AUTHORIZATION FOR ADDITIONAL PERSONNEL TO ASSIST STATE AND LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT.

There are authorized to be appropriated to the Department of the Treasury and the Department of Justice, including the Community Relations Service, for fiscal years 2007, 2008, and 2009 such sums as are necessary to increase the number of personnel to prevent and respond to alleged violations of section 245 of title 18, United States Code (as amended by this Act).

Far-right activist Ernst Zundel was convicted of 14 counts of incitement Thursday for Holocaust denial and sentenced to the maximum five years in prison. Zundel, 67, who was deported from Canada in 2005, was accused of years of anti-Semitic activities, including denying the Holocaust - a crime in Germany - in documents and on the Internet.

Zundel and his supporters have argued that he is a peaceful campaigner who has been denied his right to free speech. Zundel has been a prominent white supremacist and Holocaust denier since the 1970s. Among other ventures, he ran Samisdat Publishers, a leading distributor of Nazi propaganda based in Canada. He also provided content to The Zundelsite website, which has followers around the world, hundreds of whom have protested his detention.

Zundel was born in Germany in 1939. He immigrated to Canada in 1958 and lived in Toronto and Montreal until 2001. Canadian officials rejected his attempts to obtain citizenship in 1966 and 1994. Upon arrival in Toronto, Zundel was arrested and held in detention until a judge ruled in March 2005 that his activities posed a threat to national and international security, and he was deported to Germany.

Zundel has been standing trial in Germany since November of last year in what were, at times, raucous proceedings. In the current trial, defence lawyer Ludwig Bock quoted from Adolf Hitler’s “Mein Kampf” and from Nazi race laws in his closing statements last week as argued for Zundel’s acquittal, reports canada.com.

SAN FRANCISCO–Dozens of supporters of jailed freelance video blogger Josh Wolf gathered at City Hall here Tuesday to rally for Wolf’s release.

Those attending the demonstration held up signs with the words “Free Josh,” and speakers were insistent on the unfairness of his imprisonment. Ross Mirkarimi, a San Francisco supervisor, said he was “angry as hell about this” and called for a “serious outcry, and not just only by us.” In a statement, California state Assemblyman Mark Leno, who did not attend the rally, called Wolf’s plight a “travesty of justice.”

The afternoon gathering, which ran about an hour on the steps of City Hall, was organized by the Free Josh Wolf Coalition, with Wolf’s friend Julian Davis acting as facilitator. “Basically, if Josh isn’t released today, he’ll be the longest-held journalist under contempt,” Davis said. “We wanted to landmark the date by holding this rally.”

Wolf, in fact, did on Tuesday become the longest-serving journalist behind bars in U.S. history for contempt.

On August 1, Wolf, 24, was jailed for contempt of court for refusing to cooperate with a federal grand jury seeking unpublished footage he shot during a 2005 protest that turned violent. Wolf was released on bail a month later while his appeal was being considered. But a three-judge panel rejected the appeal and revoked bail.

Wolf might normally be protected by California’s Shield Law. But federal prosecutors, who want to see if Wolf’s footage shows a San Francisco police car being set on fire at the protest, say they have jurisdiction over the case because the car was paid for in part by federal dollars. While many states have enacted shield laws to protect journalists from revealing confidential sources, notes and unpublished materials, there is no federal shield law to protect Wolf.

Federal officials could not be reached for comment.

The Society of Professional Journalists–which fights for the rights of journalists and has supported Wolf through its Legal Defense Fund–awarded Wolf with the James Madison Award for Online Free Speech Tuesday, his 168th day of incarceration. In November, he was awarded a 2006 journalist of the year award by the same organization.

As Wolf prepared to spend another night at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin, Calif., Bruce Brugmann of the San Francisco Bay Guardian said that “Josh Wolf is not just a blogger, Josh Wolf is a hero.” Brugmann, editor and publisher of the SFBG, alluded to an incident in which he had to submit bail for three editors writing about South Korea, and thought he would never have to deal with such a situation again.

Of Wolf’s case, Brugmann said, “This is much worse than that. This is an independent journalist in San Francisco who’s doing nothing but his job, and he’s tossed in jail for contempt…Where are we Bulgaria? Or Korea?”

As the event ended, Andy Blue of the Free Josh Wolf Coalition read aloud a letter written by Wolf from jail. Wolf “never thought this would happen,” according to his letter. Wolf went on to say that he “grew up being taught that the United States was the greatest country on earth, that dissent was not only permitted but encouraged, and that we had a free press that was not encumbered by government interference.”

‘Tom Cruise’ missile jokester arrested

A Silicon Valley figure who fled the country after being convicted in part because of a Usenet joke about Tom Cruise and Scientology has been arrested in Arizona.

Keith Henson, an engineer, writer and futurist, was arrested Friday in Prescott, Ariz., where he has been living for the past few years, and now faces extradition to California. Henson originally fled to Canada after the 2001 conviction.

The misdemeanor conviction in California stems from a post that Henson made in the alt.religion.scientology Usenet newsgroup that joked about aiming a nuclear “Tom Cruise” missile at Scientologists, and Henson’s picketing of the group’s Golden Era Productions in Riverside, Calif.

Michael Kielsky, Henson’s defense attorney, said Monday that his client will likely be released on Monday evening and is required to appear in court for a March 5 hearing.

Kielsky said that Henson was mistreated by police and jailers–including being told during the arrest that he had no right to an attorney and being held in solitary confinement in a poorly heated cell without adequate bedding. “My best information is that it’s very political,” he said. “They gave him an extra blanket but then an hour later they took it away–(this is) a 66-year-old man with a heart problem.”

A message left with Sheila Polk, the Yavapai County Attorney, was not returned on Monday.

A brief flap that ensued over the amount of Henson’s bond delayed the process. A judge initially set the amount at $7,500, but then increased it to $500,000 at the request of prosecutors, according to the Yavapai County Detention Center. After a telephone conference with the judge and attorneys on Monday afternoon, the bond was lowered to $5,000.

Henson’s frequent encounters with Scientology, coupled with his lengthy resume of programming, electrical engineering and futurist accomplishments, have made him something of a legal cause celebre in technology circles.

Supporters have created a “Free Keith Henson” blog, posted a note from his wife, Arel Lucas, and are asking for donations to a legal defense fund. The fund was set up by members of the Extropy Institute, a nonprofit group that has been a gathering point for futurists and technologists since 1991.

Convicted of making threat to interfere with religion

Henson was convicted in 2001 under a California law (Sec. 422.6) that criminalizes any threat to interfere with someone else’s “free exercise” of religion. One Usenet post that was introduced at his trial included jokes about sending a “Tom Cruise” missile against a Scientology compound (the actor is a prominent Scientologist). Picketing Scientology buildings and other “odd behavior” were also part of the charges, Deputy District Attorney Robert Schwarz said at the time.

Jeanne Roy, a deputy district attorney in Riverside County, Calif., said that the next step for her office is to see whether Henson shows up for his March 5 court date. If he does not, an Arizona warrant would be issued for his arrest. If he does, Roy said, another court date would be set to deal with extradition through a process known as a governor’s warrant.

“That won’t happen by March 5,” Roy said. “It’s usually a 30- to 90-day process, depending on the state, for that paperwork.” If extradited to California, she said, Henson faces a year in jail or six months in jail and 3 years of probation.

When asked whether it’s common for California to try to extradite someone on a misdemeanor conviction, Roy said: “It’s not common, but it’s not unusual either. We do it in some cases.”

Henson’s family is concerned about what might happen to him in jail. “The Scientologists have made death threats to my father,” his daughter Amber Henson said in an e-mail message to CNET News.com. “My mom and I are going to do everything possible to make sure that they are not able to silently do away with him.” (The Church of Scientology could not immediately be reached for comment on Monday.)

Before his misdemeanor conviction, Henson had become embroiled in a civil lawsuit that Scientology filed against him.

It arose out of supposedly secret scriptures written by L. Ron Hubbard, the late science fiction author and founder of Scientology, which describe a galactic overlord named Xenu who is allegedly the source of all human evil. Since the early 1990s, Scientology has made a concerted effort to remove those documents from the Internet–including suing Henson–but they finally found a permanent legal home in the Netherlands.

Scientology’s tactics, which critics say include cult-like retention practices and intimidation, have drawn fire in the past. A Time magazine cover story, for instance, concluded that “Scientology poses as a religion but really is a ruthless global scam.” Xenu and Cruise were also satirized in a November 2005 episode of South Park.

Jimmy Carter has traveled a lot in the Middle East. He brokered a peace deal between Israel and Egypt long ago. I hadn’t known Jimmy Carter hated Jews and Arabs—Semitic people–until some Jewish people informed me he did. Seems the former president wrote a book about the causes of friction in the so-called Holy Land. As anyone could have told Carter, the causes of friction go back several thousand years and can be traced to one key issue.

Anti-Semitism.

The Jews hate the Arabs (who are Semites) as much as the Arabs hate the Jews (who are Semites). Yet they trace their lineage back to a common ancestor.

Nowadays, if anyone should speak or write a critical remark about US-Israel policy, or the fact that Israel had a very close, uncomfortably close, connection to the 911 “terror” attack and the subsequent cover up, those critics are labeled anti-Semitic. As if we somehow hated the Arabs and Jews simply because we critics saw some very real connection between Saudi hijackers and Israeli celebrants on September 11, 2001.
